Job summary

The Pete Store LLC in Plainville, MA is seeking a Diesel Technician to repair and maintain diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications. You will diagnose issues, communicate with parts, and document work performed on repair orders.

This role offers training, advancement opportunities, and a benefits package. Required is two years of related experience or training, plus various preferred certifications in medium/heavy truck systems.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred certifications in diesel truck systems listed in the qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor and foreman immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

Brakes Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck – Preferred

Diesel Engines Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck – Preferred

Drive Train Certification for Eaton and Meritor – Preferred

Electrical/Electronic Systems Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck – Preferred

Heating and Air Conditioning Certification for Commercial Truck – Preferred

Manual Drive Train and Axle Certification for Auto/Light Truck – Preferred

State Emission Certification – Preferred

State Vehicle Inspector Certification – Preferred

Paccar MX Certification – Preferred

Cummins Engine Certification on ISB, ISC & ISX 2150 through 2350 – Preferred

Preventive Maintenance Inspection Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck – Preferred

Suspension and Steering Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck - Preferred
