Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Morristown, TN for second shift. You will perform vehicle maintenance and repair on heavy-duty equipment, diagnose issues, and complete preventive maintenance to keep fleets running safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Two years or more combined classroom training and work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Inspects and repairs standard components.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical/electronic problems with diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Maintains facility and equipment.
• Interacts with drivers to assess complaints.
• Uses Shop Management System for documentation.
• Follows safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as needed.
