Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Fleet Technician in Houston to diagnose and repair medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and ensuring roadworthiness through rigorous inspection and documentation.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7 years in heavy vehicle repair, including A/C refrigeration, with 608 certification preferred. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and benefits from Day 1.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5–7 years of proven medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair experience, including PMs, tire & wheel, brakes, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in A/C refrigeration; 608 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections; identify root causes and perform repairs.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and ensure roadworthiness licensing/registration.
• Document all repairs and maintenance; complete work orders in the system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers; use hand and power tools as needed.
• Train other employees and perform additional duties as assigned.
