Job description

To support the growth of Summit Bobcat, we are hiring an experienced diesel mechanic to service the Mid-Hudson Valley region. This position requires 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience working on heavy or compact equipment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs with minimal supervision.

Salary Range:
$32 - $40 per hour.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, hydro-static, electrical, and engine systems.
  • Conduct system rebuilds and overhauls as needed.
  • Accurately complete work orders and maintain service records.
  • Work collaboratively with the Parts, Service, Sales, and Rental departments to ensure timely repairs and support.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience working on heavy or compact equipment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, hydro-static, electrical, and engine systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills for diagnostics and reporting.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
