Sonic Automotive's Philpott Ford is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join the service team in Texas. The role focuses on heavy engine repair and preventive maintenance for GM diesel vehicles.

You will diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines, fuel systems, transmissions, and electrical systems using GM tools. This position offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits with tenure extensions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician or equivalent role.
• Strong background in heavy engine repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of GM diesel engines, fuel systems and emissions.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and repair GM diesel engines, fuel systems, and emissions components.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on transmissions, drivetrains, and differentials.
• Work on electrical and electronic systems, including sensors, modules, and wiring.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using GM-specific tools and software.
• Complete repair orders with documented work performed and parts used.

Compensation (Hourly: Flat-Rate)

• $55.00 / hour

*Tenure bonus eligibility begins after 6 months.
**Coverage begins at hire; premium-free medical starts after 1 year of service.

Summary:

Philpott Ford is seeking an experiencedDiesel Technicianto join our service team.
We are looking for a professional with a strong background in heavy engine repair and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair GM diesel engines, fuel systems, and emissions components.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on transmissions, drivetrains, and differentials.
• Work on electrical and electronic systems, including sensors, modules, and wiring.
• Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests using GM-specific tools and software.
• Perform brake, suspension, and steering system repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and warranty procedures.
• Complete detailed repair orders, documenting work performed and parts used.
• Assist with recalls, bulletins, and software updates for GM diesel vehicles.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician, with a strong understanding of diesel engines.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
