Job description

Monarch Power Supply is hiring at our City of Industry location.

The Monarch Master Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing service calls that require highly skilled repairs on industrial diesel engines. These repairs demand extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems. The candidate must work independently, demonstrate leadership skills, and mentor less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Possess advanced knowledge of diesel or gas engines, electrical and electronics systems.
  • Complete assigned jobs efficiently, meeting flat rate times and metrics.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and access databases (EST, SPI) required for job completion.
  • Understand products, benefits, procedures, and applications thoroughly.
  • Remove, install, disassemble, assemble, test, and adjust engine components.
  • Assemble engines with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding diagnostics and repairs.
  • Train and mentor less experienced Service Technicians (Levels I & II).
  • Travel up to 10% for training and fieldwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Two-year certificate from an accredited college or diesel technician program.
  • 7-10 years' experience as a diesel mechanic, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in Diesel Engine Technology.
  • Own mechanic tools and knowledge of hand tools, air tools, and precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Support a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel for field service projects.
  • Compliance with safety rules and company policies.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair engine control systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Diesel systems and products, including Perkins EST.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics, teardown, reassembly, and engine installation in OEM machinery.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to obtain a CDL.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Use hand tools, computers, and phones repetitively.
  • See, hear, and communicate effectively.
  • Travel by car or plane for extended periods.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
