JOB REQUIREMENTS: Wisconsin Kenworth in Green Bay is seeking a talented individual to join the team as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic! Responsibilities include traveling to client sites and providing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Heavy Duty Trucks. Candidates must be mechanically inclined with 5 years' experience in HD truck maintenance, and certified in at least two major brand products (MX, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, or Fuller, etc). Must be able to converse with customers one-on-one. This is a great opportunity to join a growing and successful dealer group! The majority of assignments for this mobile diesel technician position will be in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles at client sites or breakdown locations.
  2. Troubleshoots various systems, including electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension, identifying needed repairs and performing corrective actions.
  3. Writes up on the repair order an accurate, clear, and detailed description of the cause of failure and the repair procedures used.
  4. Stocks and maintains service truck inventory, tool collection, and all necessary paperwork daily.
  5. Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults in vehicles and interprets test results.
  6. Reads fault descriptions on Repair Orders and determines the most efficient repair procedures.
  7. Communicates with customers and provides detailed repair information for Repair Orders.
  8. Obtains customer permission for repairs and additional work.
  9. Coordinates with parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  10. Performs road tests to verify repairs or assist in problem diagnosis.
  11. Tracks and charges hours to the proper Repair Order operations.
  12. Interacts professionally with customers and assists other technicians as needed.
Other Experience and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; technical degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Personal tool inventory to perform duties.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Responsible for collecting payments via cash, credit card, or PO.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain a valid CDL and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins.
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows basics.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime, with physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.
