Shift: 2nd shift 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Rotational Saturday (1st shift)

As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road. Whether you’re looking for your first job out of school or have some vehicle repair experience, becoming a Penske Technician may be a great fit.

Working on a variety of equipment, you’ll receive training, hands‑on coaching, and industry‑certified training. Safety and reliability are top priorities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance repairs—such as tire replacement/rotation, component lubrication, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
  • Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Problem‑solving skills and comfort using tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance essential.
  • Ability to maintain a current driver qualification file and comply with DOT requirements, including background screening, drug screening, and physical examination.
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, location, and potential travel for training.
Physical Requirements
  • Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
  • Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls.
  • Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • See and hear to navigate the workplace safely.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg), including pushing/pulling truck tires that exceed 100 lbs.
