Penske Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level Holland, Michigan

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Performing preventative maintenance such as tire replacements, rotations, lubrication, electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
• Completing other projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair is a plus
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred
• Problem-solving skills and comfort using tools
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions, guidelines, and safety policies, including DOT and OSHA regulations
• Must maintain a current driver qualification file, including MVR checks, DOT physical, and safety records
• Willingness to work the required schedule, pass background checks, drug screens, and physical exams, and travel within the region for training as needed

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to frequently move, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods. Ability to use hands for routine tasks, work safely at heights, and operate tools and controls. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and navigate the work environment safely.
