Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level

Position Summary:

As a Diesel Technician with Penske, you’ll perform minor to major truck and trailer repairs, utilizing industry-leading technology and diagnostic equipment. You’ll work within a supportive team environment that provides training and career advancement opportunities.

Work Location:

6839 US Hwy 49 North Hattiesburg, MS, 39402

Work Hours:

Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7am - 6pm

Major Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and replacements such as electrical systems, surface prep, cab accessories, cargo box repairs, and assist with major component repairs under supervision
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks as directed
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical school preferred
  • 2 years related experience preferred or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of tools including welding, painting, shop machinery, and power tools is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards
  • Willingness to travel, work scheduled hours, and pass background and drug screening
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting
  • Ability to safely work at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
