What’s the Job?

Ready to accelerate your career while helping our customers move forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet of vehicles. You will help keep vehicles in shape and on the road.

This role is suitable for those seeking their first job or with some vehicle repair experience. You’ll work on various equipment types, learn from experienced supervisors and master technicians, and receive industry-certified training.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotations, lubrication, electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
  • Partner with your manager to develop new skills through training and coaching.
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude; 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to solve problems using tools.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and outdoors.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Compliance with safety policies and regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and Penske standards.
  • Regular attendance and ability to work scheduled hours, including travel for training if needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, and bending.
  • Use of hands for routine tasks.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
