Main Responsibilities
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Performing preventive maintenance repairs—such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication, replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines
- Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
- Assisting with additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies
- Regular, predictable, full attendance
- Current driver qualification file, including DOT physical, MVR checks, and drug screening (for CDL holders)
- Willingness to work the required schedule, travel within a near geography for training, and to pass background, drug, and physical screening
Physical Requirements
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and extended sitting
- Routine use of hands for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, and operating tools or controls
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Ability to see and hear to navigate the workplace safely
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push or pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs
