Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventive maintenance repairs—such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication, replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
• Assisting with additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)

• Understanding of and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies
• Regular, predictable, full attendance
• Current driver qualification file, including DOT physical, MVR checks, and drug screening (for CDL holders)
• Willingness to work the required schedule, travel within a near geography for training, and to pass background, drug, and physical screening

Physical Requirements

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and extended sitting
• Routine use of hands for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, and operating tools or controls
• Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
• Ability to see and hear to navigate the workplace safely
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push or pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs
