Ready to move your career forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on the newest and best-maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

Location: 25501 Gateway Blvd, Tracy, CA 95377

As a Technician II at Penske, you are a respected technician trusted to work independently on major and minor repairs, perform road tests, and complete maintenance tasks. You will set an example and mentor new technicians while continuing to grow your skills through training and experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
  • Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Use Penske’s tools and technology for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Learn new skills through training.
  • Assist with other projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred.
  • Experience with diagnosing major components; ASE certifications preferred.
  • Proficient with tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions and travel within the district.

This position is safety-sensitive and regulated by the Department of Transportation. Candidates must pass background checks, drug screenings, and meet DOT requirements, including maintaining a driver qualification file.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting.
  • Use of hands for routine tasks.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
