Ready to move your career forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a fleet of well-maintained vehicles. You will help customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

As a Technician II at Penske, you are a respected technician trusted to work independently on major and minor repairs, perform road tests for diagnosis, and complete maintenance tasks. You will also mentor new technicians and continue to grow your skills through training and collaboration with experienced techs and managers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintaining vehicles to ensure safety and reliability
  • Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers efficiently
  • Repairing and troubleshooting components like engines, transmissions, and fuel systems
  • Keeping the work area clean and safe
  • Using Penske’s tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs
  • Learning new skills through training
  • Assisting with other projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred
  • Training and experience in diagnosing major components; ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency with diagnostic, hand, and power tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Adherence to safety policies and regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards
  • Regular attendance and ability to work at specific locations and schedules
  • Willingness to travel within the district as needed
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening

This position is safety-sensitive and regulated by the Department of Transportation. The ability to work safely and responsibly is essential.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting
  • Routine use of hands for operating tools and controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Visual and auditory ability to navigate the work environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally

Pay: $30.32/hr
