Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician at their Marietta location. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical repair of diesel engines preferred.
  • CDL Class A preferred but must obtain within 6 months of hiring.
  • Preferred vocational or post-secondary certifications.

  • Perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.
  • Conduct standard vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Interact with customers to understand and resolve issues.

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Marietta, Georgia.

  • Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift, 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational, technical certifications, or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance
  • Two or more years of related classroom training and work experience, preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A, preferred

This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. To become an employee, you must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Standard vehicle and component inspections
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
  • Identify root causes and perform repairs
  • Replace defective components
  • Facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to understand issues
  • Use shop management systems and documentation
  • Follow safety, DOT, and corporate guidelines
  • Support operations as needed, including service island duties
