Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $33.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
• Sign On Bonus: Ryder Pays You $2000 at 30 days and $2000 at 90 days
• Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, Weekends OFF
• Hours: First Shift 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
• Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
• Major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs, required
• Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• Other certifications as required by location, required

Additional Requirements

• Ability to perform all T3 tasks
• Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability for shift work/weekends and on call duty as required
• Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
• Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
• Minimum tool requirement
• Road testing vehicles as necessary
• Ability to coach/mentor/influence others

Driving Requirements

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, road test, background and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities

• Complete OEM online diagnostic courses within 365 days
• Perform vehicle maintenance, preventive and complex repairs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems
• Assist roadside breakdowns via remote triage
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
• Mentor other technicians and advise shop management
• Utilize shop management systems and documentation
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines
