Job summary

W.W. Williams is seeking a motivated Diesel Marine Engine Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose marine engines on yachts and commercial vessels, including routine maintenance and emergency service calls.

You will leverage hands-on expertise with diesel propulsion systems, administer service documentation, and work within safety standards while collaborating with a seasoned team across our facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel repair and maintenance experience in a heavy truck or fleet environment.
• Strong knowledge of multiple systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics) and diagnostics.
• Proficient in documentation and service reporting.
• Experience with CAT ET and SIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on inboard marine diesel engines per manufacturer procedures.
• Complete repair orders and state/inspection information accurately and timely.
• Diagnose vessel failures by disassembling and repairing components.
• Adhere to company and industry safety standards.
• Inspect critical parts to ensure proper operating condition.

Diesel Technician/Marine Engines Opportunity Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Diesel Marine Engine Technician, who is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and diagnosing both routine maintenance and emergency services on marine engines (yachts, personal and/or commercial vessels) while making repair recommendations to customers.

Job Duties

• Perform quality repairs and maintenance on inboard Marine Diesel Engines as specified in manufacturer-designed procedures.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork (e.g., repair information on work orders, information for state and emission inspections) in a timely manner.
• Diagnose failure of vessels by disassembling, repairing, and reassembling parts.
• Dedication and adherence to all Company and industry safety standards.
• Inspect vital parts to ensure they are in proper operating conditions.

Work Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ Years of diesel repair and maintenance experience in a heavy truck/ fleet dealership or shop environment.
• Strong working knowledge of multiple systems (e.g., transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.), diagnostics, and troubleshooting diesel engines.
• Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient use of Caterpillar ET and SIS
