Job summary

Wallwork Inc. in Dickinson, ND is seeking a Diesel Technician Intern to assist the Service Manager and diesel technicians in inspections and preventative maintenance. You will learn to correct deficiencies, perform adjustments and alignments, and keep detailed maintenance records.

The pay range is $28-$31/hr. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 18 years of age, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record. Prior tooling and mechanical understanding are preferable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
• Intern will be performing basic repairs with oversight from mentors and assist on major repairs.
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
