Job Description:

TSTC faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Responsibilities include facilitation of activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students.

Faculty will also interpret and administer assessments, and offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes. A key part of the role is to integrate technology effectively to enrich the educational experiences. Faculty act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC.

Pay Range: $68,523 - $72,992 + up to 6k Retention bonus annually + Sign-on bonus. Willing to negotiate base pay depending on candidate's qualifications and experience.

Faculty will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and members of the community.

Instructional Delivery:

Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction and facilitate student learning. Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, organizing daily classes utilizing various techniques.

Instructional Management:

Fulfill scheduled classes, maintain accurate student records, and ensure a safe and effective instructional environment.

Student Retention and Placement:

Advise students providing timely and accurate information. Collaborate with Student Success to support retention programs.

Program Recruitment & Promotion:

Participate in tours and recruitment events. Assist in program planning.

Teamwork & Service:

Exhibit courteous behavior, be flexible for evening/weekend work, work effectively in teams, and uphold college values.

Other Duties:

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Core Competencies:
  • Teaching & Learning: Deliver high-quality instruction, adapt methods to diverse learners.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Provide personalized guidance and support.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Use assessments to improve teaching and support student progress.
  • Technology Integration: Use technology effectively to enhance learning.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, perform resistance checks, measure voltage drops, and service fluid levels.
  • Experience with tire pressure monitoring, engine repair, steering & suspension, brake systems, HVAC systems.
  • Minimum 5 years in diesel industry-related experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Manufacturer's certifications, heavy-duty equipment repair experience, supervisory or teaching experience, 7+ years truck/equipment maintenance.
Education & Experience:
  • Required: Associate degree and relevant teaching qualifications or professional experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
