Summary of Position:

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body systems in heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May involve welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to ensure safe, productive operations. Complete repairs per DVIR and repair orders.
  2. Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive measures.
  3. Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
  4. Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant work area.
  5. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
  6. Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  7. Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
  • Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
  • Experience guiding assistant technicians and shop helpers.
  • CDL Class B preferred within 12 months; no CDL required initially.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in training courses.
  • Stay current with technological advancements used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work in extreme temperatures, and perform physical tasks repeatedly. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Work involves exposure to chemicals and waste, and requires PPE use. Work environment is both indoor and outdoor, with occasional extreme weather.
