Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a Technician II at our Jamaica, NY location. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs across a diverse fleet, working with modern equipment and Penske’s diagnostic tools.

You’ll operate with minimal supervision, mentor newer technicians, and continually expand your skills through our training programs. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service, with opportunities for growth, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work

Qualifications

3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational certified in vehicle repair preferred.
ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications (preferred).
Experienced using tools of the trade including diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools.
Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Ensures vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
Performs preventive maintenance with little supervision and in a timely manner.
Repairs and troubleshoots engines, transmissions and differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
Keeps work area clean and safe.
Uses Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
Learns new skills through Penske’s technician training.
Works on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
