Job summary

Kenan Advantage Group, Inc. in Jacksonville, IL is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Technician to keep our Class 5-8 fleet safe and running. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair brakes, suspension, electrical and air systems, and complete inspections.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of diesel, fleet, truck, trailer, or heavy equipment preventive maintenance and repair of Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and tank trailer inspection.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid Driver's License
• Must pass background check, MVR, drug screen, and physical due to safety-sensitive role
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications

• Complete truck and trailer inspections

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance on Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and tank trailers
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems
• Complete truck and trailer inspections
• Perform wheel-end, tire, and preventive maintenance services
• Troubleshoot starting, charging, fuel, and HVAC systems
• Maintain DOT compliance standards and inspection requirements
• Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately

Pay Range: 19.00-30.00 per_hour, General Benefits:

Requirements

• 1-5 years of diesel, fleet, truck, trailer, or heavy equipment preventive maintenance and repair of Class 5 - 8 commercial vehicles and tank trailer inspection
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid Driver's License
• Must successfully pass a background check, MVR review, drug screen, and physical examination as a condition of employment due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
