HOLT Truck Idealease is seeking a Diesel Technician in San Antonio. The Service Department is vital to the dealership, building open, honest, and trusting relationships with customers and other departments, which is essential for success. The main responsibility of the Service Technician is to diagnose and repair vehicle components and systems.

Accountabilities
  • Perform unsupervised work on major repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
  • Complete major repairs within specified times.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair non-typical vehicle issues.
  • Engage with manufacturers and warranty contacts to maximize reimbursements.
  • Examine vehicles to determine safety or service needs.
  • Communicate with service advisors regarding repair status.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians.
  • Participate in manufacturer training and recommend training for others.
  • Document all work and warranty information accurately.
  • Road test vehicles for evaluation purposes.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any changes.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment and suggest safety improvements.
  • Manage dealership tools and manuals, report issues, and recommend replacements.
  • Operate shop equipment safely and report safety issues.
  • Lead in a team environment.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and communicate issues to management.
  • Work efficiently and completely, managing time and organization well.
  • Drive vehicles to assess roadworthiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
