Job summary

Airoldi Brothers, Inc. in Madison, WI is seeking a diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain medium and heavy-duty trucks. The role requires strong diagnostic aptitude, reliable attendance, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

You will work 1st shift Monday–Friday, on-site, with benefits including health and dental insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, and ongoing OEM training. Prior shop experience and CDL or ability to obtain CDL are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years' experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or ability to obtain CDL.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems.
• Overhaul and repair heavy-duty engines, clutches, transmissions, differentials, power systems, cooling systems, steering, hydraulics.
• Install engines, transmissions, and other components.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Submit complete technical reports and documentation as required by manufacturers.
• Operate equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction.
• Replace worn or defective parts and rewire electrical systems.
• Align equipment or machinery and repair non-engine components.
• Install vehicle parts or accessories and troubleshoot system problems.
• Comply with safety, EPA regulations and internal controls.
• Complete work orders with accurate labor and parts logs.
