Job summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. in Long Beach, CA seeks a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty diesel vehicles, trucks and equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect electrical, hydraulic, suspension and brake systems, and support fleet operations. The role reports to the Fleet & Maintenance Director, requiring at least 3 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work under limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in diesel mechanics or similar role.
• Strong safety protocol knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Great attention to detail and problem solving.
• Team-oriented with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Inspects, diagnoses and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brakes and air systems.
• Uses vehicle computer electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.
• Documents repair times and parts usage in fleet software.
• Handles emergency service calls and annual safety checks.
• Assists other mechanics on projects and reviews DVIRs.
