Diesel Technician – Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Sweetie Boy Transportation, established in 2010, is a full-service Automobile Transportation and Logistics company. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Diesel Technician to join our growing team at our Richmond, VA hub location. If you’re reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fleet shop environment, you’ll be a great fit. Cummins and PACCAR experience is strongly preferred, and you must have your own tools.

A Diesel Technician plays a vital role in keeping our fleet and heavy equipment safe, reliable, and road‑ready. You’ll handle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy duty diesel vehicles and trailers while working with the shop team to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy duty diesel vehicles (trucks, trailers, and related equipment)
• Diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently to support shop timelines and repair deadlines
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and stay accountable for shop tools and equipment
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all diesel services performed
• Follow quality control procedures to ensure repairs are completed correctly and safely

Requirements

• Ability to self‑manage and work independently
• Must have your own tools
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to company procedures and guidelines
• Diesel Technician experience with Cummins and PACCAR (preferred/strongly preferred)
• 5 years of diesel engine repair (preferred)
• 5 years of mechanical knowledge (preferred)
• Reliably commute to Richmond, VA 23222 or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)

Pay

• $30.00–$45.00 per hour
• Weekly pay with direct deposit

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8 hour shift
• Overtime available
