Job summary

Buffalo Lift Trucks & Vitan Equipment is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Field Service Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty material handling equipment at customer sites. If you have forklift, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair experience, this field-based role leverages your diagnostic expertise across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

You’ll travel across the assigned territory, perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, and ensure safety

Qualifications

• 2+ years fixing forklifts, heavy equipment, or diesel trucks.
• Strong diagnostic instincts and safety mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems at customer locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Travel across assigned territory; field-based role.
• Ensure equipment is safe and up to standards.
• Log service work via mobile dispatch and communicate updates.

What you’ll do:

• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems directly at customer locations
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to keep local businesses running
• Hit the road across your assigned territory—no getting stuck in the same shop every day
• Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and up to solid operating standards
• Log your service work accurately via mobile dispatch and communicate updates clearly

What you’ll need:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or auto mechanics looking to transition to heavy equipment
• Strong diagnostic instincts and a safety-first mindset on the job
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate the company service truck
