Job summary

Kenworth Louisiana in Hammond, LA is seeking a Diesel Technician Class C to perform repairs with minimal supervision and a solid mechanical foundation. You will communicate with parts, document work, and maintain tools while meeting safety standards.

The role requires a degree from an accredited Diesel school or 6–12 months of related experience; OEM certifications are preferred, and a valid CDL is a plus. Work environment may be non-climate-controlled with physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Diesel school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• OEM Certifications Preferred
• Must have a valid Driver License (CDL Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
• Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Installs optional equipment as specified by the customer or dealer
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management
• Attends and completes all training as required by the company
• Maintains 85% efficiency or higher
• Other duties as assigned
