Job summary

Inland Kenworth US INC is seeking a Journeyman Diesel Technician at our Fontana, CA location. The starting pay rate is $48.00 per hour or higher, with additional premium pay opportunities for eligible employees.

The role focuses on repairing and maintaining diesel engines on Class 8 trucks in a dealership or truck repair setting, requiring strong diagnostics and hands-on expertise. Excellent safety practices and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Class 8 technician, preferable in a dealership or related truck facility.
• Strong engine repair and/or diagnostics experience is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License, CDL is a plus; A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Basic computer skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Analyzes customers’ truck performance complaints, diagnoses cause of any malfunctions and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road test vehicles when required.
• Follows Health & Safety Manual and keeps shop area neat and clean.
• Complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal and health & safety regulations.
