Experienced Certified Diesel Technician

Dean Arbour Ford of Tawas is looking fora Diesel Technician Apprentice. An individual who is willing to work hard, learn the skills and work towards becoming a Diesel Technician. Dean Arbour Automotive has been serving Northeast Michigan for over 47 years. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are to be done along side your mentor, learning all the skills of a Diesel Technician:

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership

  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.

  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

  • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Will work towards ASE certifications

  • Ford Training and Certifications will be obtained as you go

  • Thorough knowledge of late model gas and diesel engines is helpful but not required

  • Computer skills including email, maintenance programs and diagnostic systems, etc.

  • Experience using lifting devices (floor, wheel or transmission jacks, floor cranes, etc.) is preferred

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have clean & valid driver's license
