Job summary

Love's Travel Stops is offering a Diesel Apprentices program in Fernley, NV. No professional experience required; training will cover electrical, HVAC, and vehicle diagnostics while providing entry into diesel maintenance and roadside service roles.

Apprentices will interact with customers and drivers, learn preventative maintenance, and work in a fast-paced environment with safety as a priority. Training includes DOT medical card eligibility paid by Love’s.

Qualifications

• No prior professional experience required; training provided by Love’s.
• Strong mechanical inclination and willingness to learn diesel/apprentice maintenance.
• Ability to learn and apply diagnostic techniques for truck and vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Move and lift 75+ pounds; work in close quarters and varying temperatures.
• Maintain safety and customer satisfaction by following Love’s policies.
• Rotate between day and night shifts as needed.
• Possess ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card (paid by Love’s).

In the apprentice program, you can expect to learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Earn $20.00 - $24.00 p/hr
• Assist customers with roadside services

• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
