Job summary

Love’s Travel Stops in New Baden, IL, seeks Diesel Apprentices to start a hands-on career in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will learn electrical diagnostics, air systems, wheel end repairs, and basic computer diagnostics while earning competitive pay and benefits.

No prior experience needed; Love's provides training, tuition assistance, PTO, and a path to career development. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to advance within a nationwide network of travel stops.

Qualifications

• No professional experience required; training provided.
• Willing to learn electrical diagnostics and vehicle systems.
• Physically able to perform tasks and lift 75+ pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Move and lift 75+ pounds; work in varying temperatures.
• Follow safety policies to protect customers and coworkers.
• Rotating day/night shifts as needed.
• Obtain a Department of Transportation medical card (paid by Love’s).

Diesel Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and maintain clean places with friendly faces. You will interact with customers & drivers from all over, making their travels and their day better. Are you mechanically inclined with no professional experience? No problem!We will teach you!

In the apprentice program, you can expect to learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Assist customers with roadside services

• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
