Job summary

Love’s Travel Stops in the United States is offering a Diesel Apprentices program. You will work in a fast-paced environment, assist customers and drivers, and learn electrical/diagnostic basics while being taught on the job.

The role requires physical capability and a willingness to learn, with Love’s supporting you toward a DOT medical card. The position emphasizes safety, customer service, and a rotating schedule between day and night, with company tuition assistance and career development

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and helpful attitude to assist customers and drivers.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in diesel/appliance diagnostics.
• Safety-first approach in a fast-paced retail/auto environment.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services and support drivers.
• Learn preventative maintenance services and basic diagnostics.
• Move and work safely in a busy shop/lot environment.
• Maintain safety and customer satisfaction per Love’s policies.
• Work rotating day and night shifts as needed.
• Possibly obtain a DOT medical card (Love’s pays).

Diesel Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and maintain clean places with friendly faces. You will interact with customers & drivers from all over, making their travels and their day better. Are you mechanically inclined with no professional experience? No problem!We will teach you!

In the apprentice program, you can expect to learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Assist customers with roadside services
• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
