Compensation and Hours
- Hourly Pay: $25.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, weekends off
- Hours: Second Shift Monday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Tuesday through Friday 11:30 am – 8:00 pm

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification / post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including: routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
Other Requirements
- This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must: obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire; pass a Ryder drug test; pass a DOT physical; pass a Ryder road test; pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, which could include but are not limited to Service Island support
