Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group in Wisconsin seeks a skilled service technician to perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles, troubleshoot problems, and ensure equipment is ready for operation.

Travel to customer sites within the assigned region, provide phone support as needed, and document work to verify proper functioning of equipment and post-service reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record and Class B CDL preferred.
• Experience in heavy truck repair or maintenance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair emergency vehicles and equipment.
• Travel to customer sites within the assigned territory to perform repairs.
• Troubleshoot and install equipment, ensuring proper operation.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer support when needed.
• Document work performed and confirm equipment is functional after service.
• Communicate effectively with customers by phone or on-site.
• Ensure high-quality repair work and adherence to safety standards.

Summary

Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
