Job summary

Love's Travel Stops is seeking a Diesel Technician in New York to diagnose and repair light mechanical issues, assist drivers, and perform preventive maintenance. You will work a rotating day/night schedule and help ensure safety and customer satisfaction across our busy service bays.

The role requires physical ability to lift 75+ pounds, exposure to varying temperatures, and may include DOT medical card eligibility, with Love’s covering related training.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing light mechanical issues.
• Willingness to provide roadside services and assistance.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Must be able to lift 75+ pounds and work in varying temperatures.
• Commitment to safety policies and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair light mechanical issues including wheels, suspensions, A/C, and electrical components.
• Assist customers with roadside services as needed.
• Provide preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Move and lift heavy objects up to 75+ pounds; adapt to temperature changes.
• Maintain safety and quality by following company procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule with day and night shifts.
• Obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love’s).

Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot and repair light mechanical issues that may include wheel-end assemblies, electrical systems, suspensions, A/C, or engine components
• Assist customers with roadside services
• Provide preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
