Job summary

Billy Bob’s Repair and Tire in the San Antonio area is hiring experienced diesel technicians to diagnose and repair light through heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The shop emphasizes safety, documentation, and teamwork in a modern facility with dealer-level tooling.

We offer a competitive salary of $70,000–$85,000 per year, weekly pay, health benefits, 401(k), PTO, and relocation assistance may be available. This is a full-time, in-person position in Elmendorf, TX.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of diesel technician experience or a mix of schooling and hands-on work.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are required.
• Experience on medium- and heavy-duty trucks and/or heavy equipment.
• Must bring your own basic hand tools; larger tools are provided.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair air, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, suspension, drivability, and drivetrain systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs.
• Document repairs and coordinate with Parts/Service departments.

Billy Bob’s Repair and Tire is a family-owned and operated diesel repair shop specializing in medium- and heavy-duty trucks, heavy equipment, and agricultural equipment. Located in the San Antonio area, our 15,000-square-foot facility is equipped with dealer-level diagnostic equipment, software, and modern tooling to help our technicians get the job done right the first time.

Position Responsibilities

• Accurately troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment
• Diagnose and repair air systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, suspension, drivability concerns, and drivetrain components
• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs
• Properly document repairs and communicate needed parts and repairs with the parts and service departments
• Order parts through the Parts Department in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Maintain a professional appearance and work ethic
• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
• Work effectively as part of a team

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of diesel technician experience, or a combination of schooling and hands‑on experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working on medium- and heavy-duty trucks and/or heavy equipment
• Must have your own basic hand tools; larger and specialty tools are provided
• Must be able to work independently as well as with a team
• Must be able to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
• Must be able to lift approximately 50–75 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to work outdoors for extended periods when needed
• Must be willing to work in an in‑person shop environment
