Ryder in Sterling, Virginia is seeking a permanent, full-time experienced mid-level Diesel Technician to service our heavy-duty fleet. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, brakes, tires and related systems, using diagnostic tools and shop software.

The shift runs 10:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends off and a competitive benefits package. Compensation includes hourly pay of $28 with a sign-on bonus, quarterly bonuses, tuition

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, and road test.
• Pass Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years.

• Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
• Sign On Bonus: Ryder Pays You $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work, required
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
• Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
• Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support
