Job summary

Dollar General Fleet is seeking diesel technicians to ensure trucks, trailers, and yard tractors meet safety and federal standards at the Bethel, PA distribution center.

We offer an hourly wage of $20.00–$27.50 with weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and company-provided tools with no cost to you. Position requires one year of Class A truck experience and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working on Class A trucks.
• Experience with air brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience required.
• Tire repair experience preferred.
• Perform DOT inspections and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck and trailer components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment.
• Maintain safety and reliability on fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, lift-gates, and company-owned equipment.
• Abide by all company policies and safety rules; keep a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Maintain repairs for Class 8 trucks, trailers and yard tractors.
• Safely operate gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, grinders and related tools.

About the Position:

Dollar General Fleetis currently hiring diesel technicians!This position ensures all trucks, trailers, and yard tractors are in working order and are compliant with federal standards.

Requirements:

• At least one (1) year of experience working on Class A trucks
• Experience working with air brakes, hydraulic & electrical systems
• Prior welding and fabrication experience required
• Tire repair experience (repair, mounting, dismounting) preferred
• Perform DOT inspections and compliancy

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair truck andtrailer components such as doors, floors, side panels, electrical and air brake systems
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on tractor and trailer equipment, including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders
• Perform maintenance repairs as required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, lift-gates, and any company-owned equipment
• Abide by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues
• Maintain repairs for Class 8 trucks, trailers and yard tractors
• Safely operates gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, grinders, and various hand and power safety tools
