Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Oak Creek, WI.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Previous experience as a Medium & Heavy-Duty repair technician

  • Complex engine repair and full overhaul

  • Troubleshooting of wiring, powertrain and chassis is a plus

  • Previous experience with engine diagnostics and technical problem solving

  • Electrical experience is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

  • A current valid license is required for this role

  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

  • This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
