Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• All other certification as required by location, required
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs on heavy and medium duty equipment
• Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
• Standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
• Conduct detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components
• Work independently on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to identify issues
• Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Follow all safety and compliance guidelines
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and utilize maintenance documents
• Support operations as needed
• Complete OEM diagnostic courses as required
