Ryder System, Inc. in Jeffersonville, IN seeks an Entry Level Diesel Technician to maintain heavy-duty vehicles. You will participate in hands-on training and perform basic repairs with state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools.

Paid training, PPE/uniforms, and tool/boot allowances are provided. CDL may be required within 6 months, with potential bonuses and a structured career path at Ryder.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• One year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred.
• Valid CDL CLASS A, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance.
• Performs component identification and minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Perform all entry level tasks.
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ryder is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician in Jeffersonville, Indiana — providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

• Hourly Pay: $27.97 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
• Hours: Tuesday-Thursday 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Friday 1:30pm - 10:00pm, Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools, required
• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Additional Requirements

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred
• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
