Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Diesel Technician in Jacksonville, FL, with shift Monday–Friday 2PM–10PM. You will handle diesel engine diagnostics, repair major components, and service electrical/electronic systems across heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Ideal candidates hold a Class A or C CDL and may have ASE Master Technician certifications. Expect heavy lifting and reliable, clear communication as essential requirements in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• CDL license required (Class A or C).
• Strong diagnostic tool knowledge for diesel engines.
• ASE Master Technician certifications desired.
• Ability to lift ~45 lbs and work with heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company trucks and trailers (bumper to bumper).
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
• Diagnose electrical/electronic systems, brakes, drivetrains, hydraulics, and transmissions.

Diesel Technician – Jacksonville, FL

Vaco is hiring for a direct hire opportunity.

Shift: Monday – Friday 2PM-10PM

Purpose of role:

Company truck and trailer maintenance and preventative maintenance.

Overview:

Complete knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and diagnostic tools. All major engine manufacturer component overhaul and repair; electrical and electronic systems diagnostics and diagnostic tools; brakes and braking systems; transmissions and driveline; hydraulics and power lift systems; ability to diagnose and repair all classes of heavy‑duty trucks/trailers bumper to bumper without supervision.

Required Skills/Certifications:

• Required technician tool set.
• Class A or C CDL license required.
• Nice to have: all 7 ASE Master Technician certifications (T-2 through T-8).

ASE Master Technician Certifications:

• T1 – Gasoline Engines
• T2 – Diesel Engines
• T3 – Drive Train
• T4 – Brakes
• T5 – Suspension & Steering
• T6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems
