Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Greenville, South Carolina. This role offers an hourly pay of $27.50, with additional bonuses and benefits including medical, dental, and vision after 30 days. Position Description

Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Greenville, South Carolina. Hourly pay $27.50, weekly pay, plus bonuses and benefits.

• Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus: up to $700 for new ASE certifications
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
• Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 after 30 days and $1,250 after 90 days
• Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday
• Hours: Second Shift Tuesday‑Friday, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm; Saturday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational, technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
  • Routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work (required)
• Two or more years of classroom training and/or work experience in required fields (preferred)
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• Position requires driving Ryder vehicles; must:
• Obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including verification for last 3 years

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle record checks, road tests, and/or customer‑specific background or badging requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
• Carry out preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computers when applicable
• Identify root cause of basic failures and perform necessary repairs
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Execute facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned tasks
• Use shop management system and electronic documentation tools
• Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support
