Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is seeking a dependable Diesel Technician in Fruita, CO to maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks, ensuring customers stay on the road. You will diagnose issues, perform maintenance, and complete repairs with attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Complete repairs from minor fixes to major overhauls.
  • Document work with clear service notes and use basic computer systems.

Hourly Pay: $25–$35 / Hour, with final compensation determined based on relevant experience, certifications, education and demonstrated skills.

What You’ll Do

As a Diesel Technician, you’ll maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks to keep our customers on the road. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
  • Performing preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Completing repairs ranging from minor fixes to major overhauls
  • Disassembling and reassembling components accurately and efficiently
  • Documenting work with clear, detailed service notes
  • Using basic computer systems for work orders and diagnostics
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record required; (CDL preferred)
  • 4+ years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Basic computer skills
