Job summary

Transteck, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician for our Freightliner of Winchester dealership. The role involves diagnosing and repairing trucks, promoting parts and labor sales, and maintaining quality workmanship. Must provide own hand tools and have a valid driver’s license. Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Valid driver's license.
• Must provide own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Determine cause of malfunction using manufacturers' approved troubleshooting guides, test drive, or service manuals as necessary.
• Promote sales of labor, parts, and accessories to meet customer needs.
• Perform requested labor operations using recommended procedures, tools, and equipment.
• Document work performed and applicable technical information.
• Note additional needed work and obtain approval before proceeding.
• Clean all parts that have been worked on and keep customer vehicles clean.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization of personal work area.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Order parts according to dealership procedures.
• Tag all warranty parts and return all dirty cores to parts promptly.
• Perform repairs in a timely manner set by the manufacturers' standard repair time guidelines.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Must provide own hand tools

Position Preferences

• Commercial driving license
• Heavy‑duty truck experience
• Technical training school or equivalent experience

Technician Duties
