Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety, & Environmental policies
  • Engage in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

Qualifications

  • Experience with complex internal engine repairs and overhauls
  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited support from diagnostic tools
  • Understanding of aftertreatment systems and components
  • Mentor junior technicians, providing technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include options such as 401(k), Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, HSA, Domestic Partners Coverage, and other personal and professional benefits.

Education and Licenses

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Valid driver's license; CDL may be required upon hire

Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of engine products
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians (preferred)

Additional Requirements

  • Subject to drug testing per Federal Transit Administration regulations
  • Must be at least 18 years old with 2 years of driving experience
  • Clean 5-year motor vehicle report

Salary Range: $37,000 - $40,000 annually
