Job summary

A vehicle service company is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician in Charleston, SC. You will perform quality repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks, utilizing diagnostic software for troubleshooting. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, a strong knowledge of diesel systems, and excellent documentation skills. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on diesel technician experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel diagnostic and repair systems.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and able to document repairs accurately.
  • CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
  • Dependable, safety-focused and team-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality repairs and maintenance on trucks and diesel engines.
  • Complete routine maintenance like oil changes and inspections.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and correct deficiencies.
  • Perform adjustments, alignments, and road tests as needed
  • Accurately document all repairs, inspections, and work orders, including state and emissions paperwork
  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety
  • Complete additional projects or duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain safety protocols and adhere to company policies

Job description

  • Perform quality repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
  • Complete routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using current diagnostic software
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and correct vehicle deficiencies
  • Perform adjustments, alignments, and road tests as needed
  • Accurately document all repairs, inspections, and work orders, including state and emissions-related paperwork
  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety
  • Complete additional projects or duties as assigned by the supervisor
