Job summary

M&K Truck Centers in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring Diesel Technicians to diagnose, maintain, and repair semi-trucks. You’ll work on Mack, Volvo, and other makes, performing inspections and repairs in a fast-paced shop environment.

Entry-level to experienced technicians are welcome; a basic tool set is required. Paid training and OEM certifications are offered, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Diesel technician training preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 18 months diesel repair experience.
  • Experience with semi-trucks and fleet maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel trucks (Mack, Volvo, and other makes).
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Repair and service: Brake systems, suspension, electrical, and emissions systems.
  • Accurately document all repairs, parts, and labor.
  • Work closely with service advisors and service managers.
  • Deliver high-quality, efficient repairs while maintaining productivity.
  • Provide excellent customer-focused service.

Salary Range: $27.00 To $48.00 Hourly

We are hiring Diesel Technicians / Truck Technicians to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on new and late-model semi-trucks. This role is ideal for candidates with experience or interest in diesel engine repair, heavy-duty truck maintenance, and fleet service.


We are actively hiring at all experience levels, including:



  • Entry-level / recent tech school graduates

  • Mid-level technicians with hands-on experience


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel trucks (Mack, Volvo, and other makes)

  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty trucks

  • Repair and service:

Qualifications

  • Diesel technician school or technical training is preferred but not required

  • Experience with semi-truck repair, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment repair

  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) - preferred, not required

  • Mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic

  • Minimum 18 months diesel repair or mechanical experience (preferred, not required for entry-level roles)

  • Ability to work in a shop environment and collaborate with a team

  • Must own a basic set of tools
