Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Senior Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Baltimore, MD.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly Pay: $31.00 per hour
• Sign-On Bonus: Ryder pays YOU $1,250 after 30 days, and $1,250 after 90 days
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 four times per year
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second shift, 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair, including preventive maintenance and diagnostics
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred
• All location-specific certifications required

Additional Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with heavy and medium-duty repairs and diagnostics
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Driver Requirements:

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks

Responsibilities:

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including preventive and diagnostic work
• Complete mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components and work unsupervised on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to identify issues
• Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation
• Follow all safety and compliance guidelines
• Mentor junior technicians
• Access and use maintenance documents and OEM diagnostic tools
• Support operations as needed, including service island support
• Complete OEM diagnostic courses as required
